 How to wash my period pants? Read our article “Period pants – how to care for them so they last years” and learn how to wash and dry your purchase.

Do period pants smell when you use them? No, period pants shouldn’t smell because the blood is absorbed into the gusset. As long as they are rinsed out carefully after use and then washed as per instructions, period pants don’t smell.

Is it messy using period pants? You will come into contact with your own period blood when you rinse out your period pants under cold, running water after use. Some people don’t like this but it is something which is necessary to keep them clean. Otherwise, no, using period pants isn’t generally messy. 

How long do period pants last? As an average, our period pants last around 3 years, but this really depends on how well they are looked after and how much they are worn. There is no exact amount of time guaranteed, but I still use the same period pants I began with when I opened this business, 4 years ago and they still work perfectly well.

Can I return my period pants? We hope you will love your period pants as much as we do, but If you really don’t like your purchase, you have 14 days from receiving them and can return them if they are in perfect condition, unwashed, in the original packaging and any labels are still in tact. You must have proof of purchase. Please email me at menstru8.com to let me know that you intend to return your purchase and return them to Lisa Southcott, 31, Rue de La  Counillere, Chalais, 16210, France via La Poste. It is advisable to organise a recorded delivery in order to ensure your purchase is returned safely. 

How many hours can I wear my period pants? This depends on how heavy your period is – everyone is different. On a heavy day, you may want to change them after 6 hours if the gusset feels full or uncomfortable. On a medium day, you may be able to wear them for 8 hours. On a very light day, you may choose to wear your pants for 10 or even 12 hours. These are just guidelines and you will get to know your own body and when your pants need changing according to your own needs. 

Please be aware that it isn’t recommended that you wear your pants for more than 12 hours on any day for hygiene reasons and as you will risk them becoming overloaded and risk leaking. 

Are period pants comfortable? All of the period pants you buy from Menstru8 should be comfortable and nice to wear. Unlike menstrual pads, they don’t bunch up or move around when you exercise and they don’t make a crinkling sound when you move. Period pants are discreet and usually feel like wearing your everyday underwear. They don’t chafe your legs and don’t rub the delicate and intimate parts of your body, unlike other menstrual products.

How do you use period pants? Use them just like regular underwear. When you get your period, put them on and get on with your day/evening. There is no need to wear any other period products if you don’t want to. When you are ready to change your period pants, take them off, rinse them under cold, running water, put them in the washing machine (or hand wash) at 30 degrees, then hang them up to dry. Remember not to use any bleach or fabric conditioner as this can damage the interior of the gusset and render your pants useless as protection. 

Some people like to use period pants as extra protection and use them with a period cup or re-usable sanitary pad. If you do this, you can be completely confident that you won’t have any leaks or stains on your clothes and bedsheets.

In this case, payment can be made either by Paypal or bank transfer by private arrangement. 

How long does shipping take? On average, you should receive your order in around 5-7 working days and shipping is done with La Poste, France from door to mail box if appropriate. All our deliveries are tracked.
